Demand for simplification in GST
Saharanpur Workers of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Trade submitted a memorandum to DM Akhilesh Singh in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other demands including simplification of GST. He alleged that the GST tax system is causing trouble for small traders.
Before handing over the memorandum to the Collectorate on Tuesday, Provincial Chairman Radheshyam Narang said that in July 2017, traders had welcomed the GST tax system. The expectation was that the new tax system would be simpler. In which input tax credit will be provided without any interruption. But GST has now become a cause of trouble for small traders. He said that the provision of ITC, e-bill and penalty should also be changed. This will not only benefit the traders, but the government will also get more revenue. He said that if the GST is not changed then traders will be forced to agitate. Vineet Karnwal, Rajeev Futela, Sanjay Tiwari, Anil Dharia, Virendra Kumar, Shrikrishna Gupta, Mukesh Sethi, Nawab Gurjar, Bharat Karnwal, Nikhil Mittal, Deepak Jain, Subhash Dhamija etc. were present during this period.
